Leak detection, gas, water and CO2

High bills can be a frustrating way to discover a gas or water leak. They can be due to all sorts of reasons, including:

• Galvanised iron pipes beneath the surface rusting and decaying
• Small movement in fittings near appliances
• Incorrect installations of either pipework or appliances

If you have received a high bill due to an expected leak, an invoice or letter from OGP sent through to your energy provider will mean that you won't have to pay the excess on your bill.

CO2 is a deadly gas that derives from gas appliances burning incorrectly. All gas heaters must be serviced before the arrival of the cooler months and we advise that other appliances be checked at the same time. With the appropriate maintenance, you will never have to worry about CO2.

The following symptoms may be caused by CO2 exposure:

• Headache
• Weakness
• Dizziness
• Nausea or vomiting
• Shortness of breath
• Confusion
• Blurred vision
• Loss of consciousness
